Jets Interview Maryland’s Mike Locksley For Head Coaching Role

The New York Jets announced they have interviewed University of Maryland head coach Mike Locksley for their vacant head coaching position.

Locksley has led Maryland since 2019, achieving a 32-36 record, including three consecutive winning seasons (2021-2023) and bowl victories. Despite a tough 4-8 season in 2024, he guided the program to its first back-to-back eight-win seasons in two decades (2022-2023).

A D.C. native with over 30 years of coaching experience, Locksley previously excelled as the offensive coordinator for Alabama in 2018, leading a record-breaking offense that averaged 45.6 points per game. He was awarded the prestigious Broyles Award that year, recognizing him as the nation’s top assistant coach.
