Beloved legend Nikki Giovanni has passed away. The world-renowned poet, author, educator and public speaker was best known for her work on civil rights and social issues. She published dozens of volumes of poetry, essays and anthologies, and more than 10 children’s books. She eventually found her way to Virginia Tech, teaching English for more than three decades. Giovanni died on December 9th following her third cancer diagnosis with her life-long partner, Virginia Fowler, by her side. She was 81.

Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx finally gave insight into the medical emergency he endured last year during his Netflix special “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was.” He revealed he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke. Foxx thanked his sister for saving his life by taking him to the hospital for a second opinion after he was previously sent home with a headache.

Drake’s first court appearance have been announced. The New York Supreme Court is scheduled to hear Drake’s lawsuit against UMG and Spotify on January 16, 2025.

Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 once again. “All I Want for Christmas Is You” became Carey’s 19th Hot 100 No. 1. It also made Carey the first artist to have ranked at No. 1 on the chart in four distinct decades which are the 1990s, 2000s, ‘10s and ‘20s.
