Over the weekend, the FBI declared a second attempt on former President Donald Trumps life. The suspects name is Ryan Wesley Routh.
Although there was no physical harm to Trump, Routh planned on taking an attempt on Trumps life over the weekend at Trumps country club. Routh went to the country club with an AK-47 style rifle, a telescope, two backpacks — one that had ceramic tile in it — and a Go Pro. Routh was about 500 yards away from Trump.
Routh has a strong presence on social media speaking on his take on the war between Ukraine and Russia. He has multiple post about wanting politicians, journalist, and celebrities to support Ukraine. On his social media pages, it shows that Routh has traveled multiple rallies to voice is opinions.
Authorities tried to gather more details on Rouths motive.They are also trying to figure out how Routh knew that Trump would be at the country club that day. Some investigators were looking at whether Routh was frustrated with Trumps position on Ukraine. During the debate between Trump and Harris, Trump did not comment on if Ukraine should win its war against Russia.
Routh is now in custody. Authorities are still waiting to hear back from friends ane family to try to get a clear understanding on Routh.
